International Women' Day Zambia 2017

International Women's Day 2017 was commemorated on Wednesday March 8th. There was a grand parade in Lusaka to celebrate the day, and to sensitise people to its goals.

As usual Autoworld were among the many companies and Government ministries, NGO’s and political parties that took part. Under the global theme of 'Be Bold for Change', the day was celebrated in Zambia with a focus on women in the work place - ‘Women in the changing world of work: Planet 50:50 by 2030’.

Left to right, Annie Nene from Impala Service Station, Margaret, Tambudzai, our internal auditor Rupa, and Annabel. Behind are, left to right, Annie Zulu (partially hidden), Ruth and Phenny (also partially hidden).

The ladies were supported by Sepiso, Peter and Matthews, who helped carry the Autoworld banner.

A lot of colour and glamour was added to the occasion by the brass band giving the rhythm for those marching, and the majorities - young girls with spectacular gymnastic moves!

The parade ended with a salute to the President of Zambia His Excellency Mr Lungu.
